BDNF Unveiled: Exploring Its Role in Major Depression Disorder Serotonergic Imbalance and Associated Stress Conditions

چکیده
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a neurotrophin that plays significant role in the survival and development of neurons, being involved several diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease major depression disorder. The association between BDNF depressive disorder subject extensive research. Indeed, numerous studies indicate decreased levels are linked to an increased occurrence symptoms, neuronal loss, cortical atrophy. Moreover, it has been observed antidepressive therapy can help restore levels. In this review, we will focus on serotonergic imbalance associated stress conditions, particularly hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis dysregulation oxidative stress. All these features highly connected signaling pathways context disease, exploring topic aim advance our understanding disorder, improve diagnostic treatment approaches, potentially identify new therapeutic targets alleviate heavy burden society.

The role of BDNF and memory in major depressive disorder.
The role of BDNF in depression and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) has been extensively investigated in the literature. A summary of relevant papers, including a number of independent literature reviews, is presented, and the possibility that alteration in BDNF causes depression by altering memory is analysed and criticised in the context of consistency with cognitive models of depression.

BACKGROUND Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and major depressive disorder (MDD) frequently co-occur after traumatic experiences and share neurocognitive disturbances in verbal memory and executive functioning. However, few attempts have been made to systematically assess the role of a comorbid MDD diagnosis in neuropsychological studies in PTSD. OBJECTIVE The purpose of the current study ...

OBJECTIVE To replicate previously reported associations between major depressive episodes (MDEs) and long-term medical conditions in a Canadian community sample. METHODS A sample of 2542 household residents was selected using random digit dialing (RDD). Data were collected by telephone interview. The Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI)-Short Form for major depression (CIDI-SFM...

OBJECTIVE Polymorphisms of serotonin transporter (5-HTT) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) genes have been investigated as candidate genes for depression occurring in medical disorders. The serotonin 2a receptor (5-HTR2a) genes have been investigated as risk factors for depression but rarely in combination with medical conditions. This study aimed to investigate whether polymorphisms...
متن کاملP140: Lipopolysaccharide and BDNF in Anxiety and Depression
Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a neurotrophin acting at several levels in the brain. Additionally, BDNF was shown to be responsible for the survival, maintenance and growth of neurons. Also, BDNF plays an important role in synaptic plasticity and memory processes. In activity-dependent synaptic plasticity, BDNF enhances long-term potentiation (LTP) in the hippocampus but blocks the...
